Kinbakeryly, formerly known as bakemehappiness, is a small home business bakery based in Kuala Lumpur. They sell a variety of baked goods like cakes, cookies, bento cakes and even DIY cake decorating boxes! On her Instagram page, you can find pictures of cute Korean-style designed cakes.

The founder of Kinbakeryly, Ashykin Abdul Rahman, is a wife and mother of one. She has been running this business herself, baking all her delicious goodies with no team to support her. In July 2020, she made a no-bake oreo cheesecake for her friends as she did not have an oven or mixer. They loved the cheesecake and encouraged her to sell it.
“I noticed I’ve found a passion for baking. I feel satisfied when people want to taste my creations, and I definitely enjoy every second of it!”, she said.

Out of Ashykin’s newfound love for baking, she embarked on her journey. At first, her cakes were sloppy and messy. “It wasn’t attractive, and I failed many times,” she shared. Ashykin then decided to stop for two months to improve herself. To cope with the failures she experienced, she joined an online baking class to enhance her skills. By learning the right techniques, the do's and don'ts when baking, and getting to practice on hundreds of cake orders, she managed to have a stable start. “It is all thanks to my beloved customers for trusting my work,” Ashykin added.
Now, Ashykin has slowly been upgrading her equipment, while growing her business. She has also taken up the challenge of accepting requests for bulk orders of cupcakes for the front liners and preparing cakes for special occasions such as weddings or engagements. Out of her hard work, people have also requested decorating classes and she has even received an offer to work with Universal Music Malaysia, she shared. Among all of the designs she has made, the floral buttercream cupcake is her favourite to make and eat. You should definitely try it!

We asked Ashykin what made her think of selling this box. “ Since we can’t go out now, especially children, cake decorating can be a fun activity to do with your family”, she said. “Staying at home can be boring, hence the birth of The Joyful Box idea is to boost the kid’s creativity! As an adult, I enjoy decorating cakes, and I realised that people may want to have the same experiences, but they don’t have the right tools or ingredients.” “So, this convenient DIY cake decorating box will be the best solution. By providing all the ingredients and tools in a box, it will be easier to bring happiness to everyone! ” she added.
Prices range from RM25 to RM68 for bento cakes in 4, 6 and 8 inch sizes. Whole cakes are also available in 6 and 7 inches, priced from RM65 to RM85. Craving for small bites instead? There are cupcakes and cookies available, priced from RM22 to RM38. And not to forget her cheesecakes, priced from RM45 to RM90 in 4, 6, and 8 inch sizes.
